Teaching

Amy has a strong passion for teaching and sharing her love of dance. Teaching primarily contemporary and street styles, Amy has also developed her own Capoeira-Contemporary Dance fusion style (CCD). CCD brings together the strong and powerful movements of Capoeira (a Brazilian form of martial arts) with the flowing ease of contemporary dance.

Amy seeks to develops classes that anyone with a love of dance can take part in, beginner and advanced students will both gain from classes that have a strong emphasis on conditioning the body and enjoying the flow and fun of dance. In the past Amy has taught for a number of Ireland’s leading dance schools including Dance Theatre Ireland and held residencies both nationally and internationally including Dance Ireland and Dance House Glasgow. As a community dance artist she has worked with all ages and abilities and initiated many community-based projects including dance and mobility classes with both staff and residents in elderly care home settings. Most recently Amy worked with Dublin Bike Campaign to choreograph their St. Patrick’s Festival performance and is currently working with Dublin Ukulele collective, preparing the group for upcoming performances.
