Operation Freeflow 2011

For 2011, the transport agencies have agreed to a reduced but targeted plan to keep Dublin moving during the Christmas period. This will include enhanced co-operation within the traffic control units, public transport operators and Gardaí. This website sets out useful information to help you plan your journeys for over the Christmas period. The targeted plan runs from December 4th 2011 to January 8th 2012.


Night Services


Dublin comes alive at night over Christmas – whether it is a show, a meal, a get-together, an extended shopping session, or just a “couldn’t-be-bothered-rushing-home, have-a-decent-coffee” feeling, we can offer extended nighttime means of getting you home safely.

With all the transport options below, we urge you never to drink-and-drive .
As before, the Garda Siochana will be out and about in the city centre, and on the buses and trams to make sure everything goes well and that we all behave ourselves.

Nitelink

Nitelink services as normal on Friday and Saturdays nights during December 2011, with the exception of Saturday 24th December.

Nitelink will all so run between the dates of Monday 19th December to Thursday 22nd December 2011.

Bicycles

If you are intending to cycle in the evening time, make sure

  1. are okay to cycle – don’t try to cycle if you are under the influence of alchohol etc.
  2. you can be seen – you know what that means… lights front and rear, and reflective stuff !
    Remember that the Drury Street Bike Park closes at 1am, so make sure you collect your bike to get home!
